Why I love The Carbnite Solution and How It Has Helped Me

Carbnite
I know it's for me.
I know it's not for everyone.
But it is for me.
I don't mind the food sacrifices I have to make in order to be healthy.
I actually love eating ultra low carb.
I love when I have a meal and it's so delicious it doesn't seem like diet food at all.
And I'm completely full/satisfied afterwards.
I love when I'm caking on butter and pouring heavy cream on my vegetables
and I'm like...ya this is my kind of diet food...ha
I don't think I could ever go back to a low fat diet.
It's bland, and unfulfilling for me!
Protein and fatty goodness is so savory and satisfying.
I love how I never feel super hungry.
I don't get that.... I'm starving feeling.
Don't get me wrong I get hungry, but never starving.
I don't get that....my stomach is rumbling I've got to eat now feeling.
There are days I feel munchie,
So I munch.
I love how if I feel hungry, I eat without feeling guilty.
I love how I get a night of eating the carby foods I love and crave and it helps me lose fat.
And I never feel guilty for eating those carb filled foods like
cake, cookies, ice cream, donuts, rice crispy treats ect.
I seriously can't say enough good things about this way of eating.
I love it!
That being said... can  you eat like this forever, can it be a way of life?
 For me, yes and no.
Most of the time yes.
Because like I said I love this way of eating!
BUT
I have found me for at times if my life is super stressful...like last year when I had a miscarriage.
At that time I couldn't even think diet or exercise.
I felt it was too much for me to even think healthy.
My hormones were crazy since my miscarriage was actually a molar pregnancy . ( You can learn more about molar pregnancy here.)
My hormones continued to plague me for months due to what was happening to my body.
In that time period...
Between not dieting or excising... hormones and the birth control I was on.
I had gained 20 lbs in a matter of 6 months!
So, I see in times of heavy stress, dieting is really really hard for me.
It feels like one more thing you have to do on your list of many things.
It seems to hard to even think about.
Too hard to try.
Life can just get you down.
It's part of this life's process, I get it.
And I'm a stronger, more understanding person for it.

So where did I go from here?
It's a frustrating moment when you realize what you are eating is making you feel terrible!
I didn't want quit my bad eating habits.
I remember feeling like,
I want to just eat ice cream and cookies all the time and feel good and happy!
But eating ice cream and cookies all the time was making me depressed and angry.
I was tired all the time.
I woke up every morning feeling weighed down, like I could barely move.
I  felt sick and icky.
I hated how I felt and I had no clothes to wear on top of it because I had gained too much weight!
I had all these clothes in my closet and they were all way to tight. Ugh!
So the result.... my body wasn't happy and I wasn't happy.
I had to make a change.
I couldn't go on living like that.
It's like all those months of eating right and exercising were lost to me.
I felt lost.
How did I forget how good I felt before?
 It felt hazy.
Or really it felt like too much work to change the terrible habits I was in.
But I knew I had to make a change.
Like I said,
I wasn't happy.
And I really wanted to have my happy self back.

Then one day I had a conversation with my husband.
He had gained weight with me during that 6 months.
He wasn't feeling good or healthy either.
And his clothes where tight too!
And we looked at each other
and jokingly said we either need to buy new clothes or lose weight.
We both said "let's lose weight".
We decided then and there to get back on Carbnite.
Funny how clothes can be the deciding factor! haha
And we did, we got back on carbnite that week.
We did the ten day reorientation.
We immediately felt better.
And lost weight.
I think I lost 5 lbs and my husband lost 8 lbs.
Great right?
I think so.
And again it felt so familiar.
It felt good and right.
No more waking up feeling heavy and weighed down.
Every morning waking up and feeling light /and ready for the day.
And then exercise was the following step for me.
I got my diet under control started feeling better,
and I naturally wanted to get back in the gym.
This is an all around plus for me.

Carbnite changes my life.
I find I'm a better mom,
I have more energy,
my house is cleaner,
and my kids and husband are happier.
All of which make me happier!
Which is also motivates me to keep sticking to carbnite.
This is why I love carbnite,
and why I keep going back to it!

I'm just one person but, I'm a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.
And because of The Carbnite Solution I can be all of these aspects of me in such a better way.
I am so grateful to have found something that truly works for me.
I'm grateful to people like  +DH Kiefer who are trying to help people to healthier.
And for me healthier makes me happier.

And no I have not been paid to write anything about carbnite.
I just want to be able to help those who are like me.
Normal people.
And maybe this will help you want to get healthier and happier too.

Molar Pregnancy...What the What???

My life in the past 9 months has been all over the place.
I'm a busy mom of 4 children.
I feel like I have a lot on my plate all the time.
Demands constantly coming at me.
Cleaning always to be done.
Needs always to be met
Sacrifices to be made
Day in and out.
Don't get me wrong I love being a mom and wife.
I love my husband and children.
But it's not easy taking care of all of them! haha

Then last summer happened.
I had been trying to get pregnant for a year.
Then finally a pregnancy test came out positive!
I was so excited.
I had several friends and a sister-in-law who were pregnant at the time too.
All our babies would be born within months of each other!
I can't tell you how thrilled I was.
I set up my 8 week doctors appointment.
I had more cramps, and pains than I had compared to my previous pregnancies.
So, I wanted to get in asap.
Normally I wait until I'm 4 months along to go to the Obgyn.
I was nervous.
And rightly so.
The doctor did an ultra sound and there was no baby!
I was sitting there...like what?
I had a few more tests done while I was at the doctor's office.
I sat there by myself in the room trying not to cry.
Then the doctor came in and confirmed there was no baby.
I just started crying, the poor doctor trying to be so understanding.
He was so sweet.
He said I would probably officially miscarry in a few days.
I went to the car and called my husband... crying and crying.
I'm not a crier!
I was not okay.
My husband tried to console me.
My mom and sisters tried to console me too.
But I was so sad.
Then next day my doctor called again and said my hcg hormones were so high it didn't look like my body would miscarry on it's own.
 I needed a D/C.
That night I went in and had the procedure done and went home.
At this point I was sad.
But I was thinking give me 6-8 weeks and we would start trying for a baby again.
I can do this, no big deal.
Then I got a call from my doctor a few days later telling me I had a molar pregnancy.
What?? What??
What is that?
I had never heard of such thing!
You can learn about it  here.
My doctor gave me a lot of information.
Then I did a lot of research.
So basically the tissue that was growing in my uterus a.k.a not baby
Could cause me to get a disease called trophoblastic disease..which can turn into cancer.
Yay me...right?!
I needed to have 6-12 months of blood tests to make sure I didn't develop this disease.
And if I did developed it, I would need chemo.
Woohoo.
I felt devastated.
I had never had this kind of thing happen.
No health problems ever.
No previous miscarriages.
Why was this happening?!
So I started my blood tests
The only way to monitor whether or not you get this disease is through your hcg levels.
My first  hcg levels were at 160,000.
I needed to get to negative...negative is 4 or under.
I had to go in once a week to have my blood tested.
It took 8 weeks to get to negative.
This meant I probably wan't going to get the disease.
a real YAY!
But I had to continue testing for 6 more months just to make sure.
From here I went in once a month.
Thankfully, every month my test showed negative
As of a couple weeks ago I passed my 6 month test!
I'm cleared!
Yay!
I feel so grateful I'm healthy and there were no other complications.
I know this isn't the for some women,
and my heart goes out to them.

In these last 9 months there have been lots of ups and downs.
Birth control pills, that made me so sick I could barely get out of bed.
It felt like my hormones were all over the place.
It was crazy, and hard.
But I made it through.
Funny how time can heal you.
Know the saying "time heals all wounds"?
Well, it really is true, in my case anyway.
I'm not writing this for anyone to feel sorry for me.
I'm totally fine, I'm actually really good.
I guess I more did this for make people more aware.
Women have miscarriages every day.
I hadn't had one before,
I didn't realize how it would effect me.
Having to deal with the miscarriage is sad and hard all on it's own,
But then to add possible disease and cancer takes it to a whole new level.
The worry of what's happening to your body feels really intense.
Well it did for me anyway.
Now, I feel way more sympathetic towards to others going through infertility, miscarriage or disease.
At times life is so hard and can feel so cruel.
If  you are going through something hard...I mean who isn't..right?!
I feel for you.
Please hang in there and keep your head up.
I believe it does get better.
Just give it time.

Update: The Carbnite Solution

I see most of my traffic on this blog comes from my carbnite solution posts.  It's been almost a year since I last posted about it... It's about time for an update!

Have I been able to maintain the weight I lost with CNS?
No and then Yes. I'm going to be completely honest.  Last December 2013 through February 2014 ended up being a really rough time financially for me and my little family.  During this time I stopped doing CNS and working out altogether.  At the time I couldn't even think diet and exercise.  It was rough, I tell you!  But then I couldn't stand the way I felt... I felt awful.  I decided to change. I decided regardless of what was going on in my life, I would take care of my health.   So, I got back on CNS and started working out again.   Getting back on CNS was so easy. It came naturally, I felt great immediately, and the food was so good!  I really didn't have any problems starting again whatsoever.  Which was such a great feeling.   I dropped the first 6 lbs in the first ten days.   It took a few months to get the rest off, which I expected.  I've been able to maintain my weight since then.. Which has been about 5 months give or take.

Am I still following The Carbnite Solution?
Yes, and no.  At this point I'm not looking to loose more weight.  I like the size I am.  I'm more into building muscle.  In order to do this proficiently, I need to add in more carbs, more often.  So, I do one of two things. Either I eat ultra carb during the day and eat a small amount of carbs at night.  And I can do this if I'm doing heavy training the next day.  I do this about 3 or 4 times a week.  Then eat ultra low carb the other days.  (aka carb backloading) Or do  modified version of CNS and have two small carbnites a week. Going 3 or 4 days between each carbnite. I go by how my body feels and how hard I'm training.  Doing this I've been able maintain my weight and build up some much needed muscle.

I love this way of eating.  This lifestyle really. It gives me the freedom I want, with helping achieve my goals.  My training and my diet are completely lined up, and it feels great!  I love sharing about what I've learned through this whole process.  If you read this and have any questions feel free to ask!  Talking nutrition and training has come quite a passion of mine.   I really can talk for hours about this stuff Haha.

Out with friends

Nights like tonight make me happy to be alive.  I have great friends.  I have friends who love and care about me, and I'm so grateful for it.  They help make my life that much more enjoyable, doable.  Just yesterday I was feeling overwhelmed with life, dealing with finances, motherhood, cleaning ect.  It seemed so undoable.... If that's a word.  Today I woke up determined to have a better day.  Somehow this day I could see the light coming into my life.  Then later I felt the worries of life bearing down on me again.  Right then my dad called to check on how things are going and I explained how I felt.  His advice?  It's time to have faith, it's your turn to have faith. I listened to him,  I chose to have faith that all will work out.  I knelt down to pray, and peace washed over me.  Everything will work out, this peace told me.  Things started looking up after I made this faithful decision.  Then tonight came.  Two of my friends and I went and had a girls night out.  We drove to the mall and went to a few stores,  and just completely enjoyed each other.  Worry free.  It was amazing.  I even got a free bra from VS!  Thanks to my wonderful friend.... she gave me her extra gift she was given for spending  a certain amount of money. (This is how wonderful my friends are!)  Tonight was much needed.  Heavenly father cares about you, about me.  Cares about what we need.  Even if it's just a night out with a couple friends and a much needed free bra.  I see his blessings he is so willing to give.  I am so grateful for it.

Accomplishing My Goals With Carbnite!

How is carbnite going?
It's as good as I thought it would be!
At this point I've lost all the weight I gained while off carbnite plus 2.5 lbs!
not that I gained a lot of weight....I gained about 5 lbs.
BUT most of that 5 lbs was water weight.
My clothes pretty much fit the same,
maybe a tiny bit tighter... just a tiny bit.

So ...I accomplished my tentative goals I made back in February.
I'm down 30.5 lbs (since February) like I wanted.
Which means I've officially lost a ALL my pregnancy weight.
AND I'm fitting back into ALL my pre-pregnancy clothes!
I did it.
Not some magic pill or wrap.
Me... my own effort and determination!
You know what?
It feels so good!
I didn't think I'd do it this fast.
But thanks to Carbnite and now The Shockeave protocol.
I've done it!
I'm truly amazed.
I wish I could get more people to try carbnite and show them how amazing it is.
It really is the perfect diet for me.
And everyone I know that has given it a real chance,
they love it too!
It's such a fun diet for me.
And I don't think I've ever said a diet is "fun" haha.
I get to eat the food I want,
and I loose fat.
It's fun! haha.

Anyway.... how is Shockwave?
 It's going great!
I am still loving the program,
and I'm seeing results!
I should probably be taking pictures,
as I'm documenting all of this.
But I hate being in pictures.
I'd rather be behind the camera haha.
Which I'll probably regret when I'm older.
Oh well.
It's been great to be on carbnite and doing shockwave.
I can see how the two go together.
I have a long way to go with the muscle definition I want.
But I know I'm on the right track,
I'm definitely stronger,
 and I'm feeling good!

Beginning Again...The Carb Nite Solution!

My hubby and I are starting our second round of  The Carb Nite Solution today!
We both love this diet and want to be on it.
Who knew we would end up loving eating this way??!
It seemed so hard at first.
It literally took us months to really wrap our brains around low carb eating.
Now we are both really excited to start the diet again!
We know what we are doing,
we know exactly how to be successful,
and we love the food...I mean who doesn't love meat and fat?!

Also this time around I'm following +DH Kiefer's workout plan...which is called The Shockwave Protocol.
I got a gym pass...which is huge for me.
I've been working out from home for years.
I hadn't been to a gym since I was 19...which was 4 kids and 10 years ago! haha
I've been going to the gym for about 5 weeks now,
and I love every minute I'm there!
Lifting weights feels right.
Anyways... I super excited to see how my body transforms.
Between carbnite and shockwave I should get really good results!

Carbnite Recap and Breastfeeding

It's been a little over 6 months since my hubby and I started carbnite.
We have decided to take a little break for a few weeks,
then get back on it.
The first few months of Carbnite it was really hard to wrap my brain around low carb eating.
But then things finally just clicked and it became a way of life.
My hubby and I both LOVE carbnite!
In fact now that we have been of this diet for about a week,
we miss it!
Yes... miss it!
Yes ...this diet limits so many food groups,
but of the food groups you can eat....you can eat as much as you want!
No portion control.
Right now I'm having to portion control everything I eat,
and quite frankly I hate it!
I like eating fat and protein.
Actually I LOVE eating fat and protein!
Like +DH Kiefer  says "you get to eat like a fat kid"
but loose weight instead of gain!
It's pretty awesome.
Then the once a week you stuff your face full of carbs for 8 hours because your body needs it,
guilt FREE....is awesome!
I 100% recommend this diet.
I lost 28.5 lbs...while breastfeeding the entire time!
I don't normally loose weight while breastfeeding.
The weight never seems to budge.
This is my 4th child mind you,
and I got all of my pregnancy weight off thanks to carbnite.
So if you are a breastfeeding mother,
and you are wondering if you can do carbnite while breastfeeding?
The answer is YES.
It's completely healthy for both you and baby.
And you will have plenty of milk.

What's Going On

What's going on?
Welll....
My Little William is sick...AGAIN!
He has a cold,
which of course comes along with the 4th ear infection of the year!
The doctor said he'll may have to get tubes in his ears if he gets another one this year.
I'm kind of guessing...William will get another one ear infection.
I mean what baby gets 4 year infections in 5 months?
I think my oldest boy has had 4 ear infections his whole life...and he's 8 1/2 now.
Plus side...I don't think we will be making an ER trip with this sickness...so that's progress!

What else is happening?
It's the last week of school until summer vacation!
Hooray!!
Summer is here!
I think everyone is ready for school to be out!
Since it's been in the high 80's to high 90's here in lovely Hemet...
my kids have been swimming everyday over in my in-law's pool.
My hubby works from his parent's house...and this wonderful man of mine
has been taking Landon, Audrey, and Carson with him to work in the afternoons,
so they can swim!
Which gives me a couple hours of break time almost everyday lately!
You would think I would get so much done.
But you know what I've been doing with that time?
Nothing.
Well actually I got caught up on Vampire Diaries haha
Why is this show so addicting?!
Let's be honest this face keeps me watching! haha
Oh Damon... I mean Ian Somerhalder (I totally had to just look up his real name.)
You are the perfect bad boy haha!
Anyway,
now that I'm caught up I'm freed from this addiction....
I can say today my house is clean again. haha.
It's been so nice to get those couple hours to myself everyday.
I really am so grateful my hubby has been doing this for me!

That is about all that is going on over here at my house.
This summer should be fun and relaxing.

The Carb Nite Solution week 13

I just finished week 13,
and I lost 2 lbs.
I'm down a total of 18.5 lbs,
and it feels good!!
Which leaves me with 7.5 lbs to go until I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
But I gained 5 lbs right before I got preggers,
so I really have 12.5 lbs to be at my goal weight.
To be only 12.5 lbs away to my goal weight seem so doable!
And to be able to have this weight off by the time my baby turns 1 year old (or close to it)....
is AMAZING for me!
It took me so long to get the pregnancy weight off last time I was preggers.
This time...well I'm proud of myself!
See the consistency is paying off!
If you aren't doing this diet,
but you are on a diet or working out.
Don't stop!
Consistency always pays off.
It takes so much time and effort to get results,
but they come.
I'm not one for quick weight loss or an easy fix.
It doesn't work.
As soon as you stop,
the weight comes right back.
Slow weight loss and sticking to your workout,
works.
The more effort you put in,
the more you'll work at keeping it off.
So keep up!
You and I can do it.

Carbnite Week 12

Last week was week 12,
that's 3 months....only 3 more months to go!
That 3 months really flew by,
it seems like my hubby and I just started carbnite!

I didn't lose any weight last week,
but I didn't gain.
I feel like I should tell the reason for the no losing of any weight.
It's kind of personal and might be tmi ...you are warned haha
I started my period towards the of the week.... ugh
I can't complain too much since I've only had 2 periods in the last ummm 1 1/2 years.
But I'm really not used to the hormone changes,
the bloating,
and the mood swings.
It's pretty much awful!
Oh the joys of being a woman. ha
I probably did lose a little bit of weight,
but I can't tell because of the bloating and water weight!
I hope this week I'll be able to pull some weight off.
If I don't see the scale go down,
I'll be okay with it,
since I my "condition" won't end for a few more days. haha
It might take a little longer for the water weight to come off.
I'll still be exercising and doing this diet.... consistency pays off in the end!

Messy house feel like failure!

Do you ever feel like you are a failure?
I do!
I feel like most of the time I try to do my best,
 doing my responsibilities.
But often I feel like my best isn't good enough.
For example...The last couple of weeks my house has been a messy house.
I had been on a good schedule keeping everything clean.
Then William my sweet baby got sick again!
You see this sweet baby looking so happy?!
Well just a few days after this he started coughing a little bit.
Within a couple days  he couldn't breath and had a terrible ear infection!
Mind you this is his 3rd ear infection for the year!
One more and he gets tubes in his ears!
Tubes people!

I took him to the ER twice in a couple day period.
This baby is scary.
His sicknesses can go from barely there to full on can't breathe within in a 2 or 3 day period!
At least this time it was just an ER trip and not a full admission to the hospital like back in January.
It took him another 1 1/2 week to be completely better.
Then he started teething.
He just teethed 4 teeth at one time!
4 teeth people!
Lets just say he was a very cranky baby who,
was up all night crying one night last week.
Like literally from 2 am to 7 am just crying!
Awww the joys of being a parent!
Really though it was sad.

Anyway all this equals a messy house.
Sick baby/teething baby + Messy house = failure
Through all of this
I still got all my kids off to school on time
kids were fed
workouts completed 5 days a week
stuck to my diet
activities were done
dinner was made
kids homework was done and turned in
BUT my house was a disaster.
And even though I was able to accomplish so many other things,
since my house wasn't clean I felt and feel like a complete failure!
On Friday I was babysitting for my friend,
and her little girl said to me "Your house is always messy isn't it"
I was like lately yes... yes it is. haha
I don't like living in a messy house!
In my head my house should be clean all the time.
Like where if someone pops by,
I don't have to be embarrassed because my house is always clean!
Unfortunately it's not.

This week I'm getting everything back in order!
I used to be able to get everything cleaned to perfection in one day...this was pre-William.
Since William I can't do this.
So I've switched to one room per day.
Today was Kitchen.
I got the whole kitchen deep cleaned from the floors on up.
Right now I have one room completely clean!
That room feels good haha.
Tomorrow is Living room/dining room.
One room + one load of laundry done everyday = success!
I am determined to be successful this week!
Wish me luck!

The Carb Nite Soltion Week 11: Results and Tips

I know I haven't blogged for a few weeks,
life has been crazy busy.
I am still on Carbnite and I haven't cheated one time,
not one time in 11 weeks!
I think that is pretty impressive given the nature of this diet. haha
It's not easy... especially when I cook something yummy I can't eat!
I have to say it's completely worth the sacrifice and determination.
Because I am down 16.5 lbs!
That's 1.5 lbs a week.
It's funny one week...like last week I only lost 1/2 lb,
but this week I've lost 2 lbs.
So if you are doing this diet,
do not get discouraged!
I know it's hard,
but hang in there.
Don't worry if you don't see the numbers go down for a couple weeks,
just stick to it you will see results!

This is how my days go when I have good weight loss week:
  1. 6:30 -7:00 am wake up
  2. anywhere between 9-10:00 am workout.
  3. 10:30 am eat 3 eggs and some cheddar cheese
  4. 12:30-1:00 pm eat lunch,  chicken and some cheesy cauliflower mash
  5. 3:00 pm drink protein shake with almond milk
  6. 6:00 pm eat dinner  bbq chicken and vegi
  7. 8:00 pm snack 1 serving size of almonds (The Cocoa Roast almounds by Emerald are amazing!)
Sometimes I'll grab a handful of almonds  and/or some more cheese whether is babybell or string cheese, or pepperoni at some point in the day.
Drink tons of water!
I drink 90 oz of water a day ...at least.
Once in awhile I'll drink a cherry coke zero.
It gives me that sweetness I sometimes crave,
and it curves my appetite.

Here is a good tip:
Skipping breakfast or eating 3 or 4 hours after waking up helps your body burn more fat.
The breakfast is the most important meal of the day is not true.
You don't need to eat to get your metabolism going.
It's already working,
Since I've been waiting to eat until 10:00 am,
and/or waiting until after I workout,
I truly have seen a difference in my weigh loss!
Here is an article about it click  HERE.

Are you wondering what my Carbnites look like?
Here is a sample/ideal carbnite for a woman.
We tend to need a low fat, high carb... carbnite to see the best results.
And we can' just pig out.
Men can pig out and still be fine,
but unfortunately woman can't...darn it!

1. 4:00 pm eat rice crispy treats. And eat as much as you want!  My husband and I eat almost the entire pan between the 2 of us.  They are low fat, high carb. A Perfect way to start your night off your carbnite.

To keep it interesting every week I do a different kind of crispy treat. So far I've done coco pebbles, fruity pebbles, mint chocolate, and this week I'm doing pumpkin spice!  It's been fun to experiment with the different kinds. And let me tell you they are all delicious!!!!

2. 6:00 pm dinner  Sushi or some kind of curry Indian or Thai.( Keep it low fat high carb whatever it is your are eating)  Eat until you are full, not stuffed.

3. 8:00 Eat a banana

4. Right before bed ( for me is around 10:30 pm)  ideally I eat a homemade apple turnover ( which is low fat, high carb) and some vanilla ice cream.  But sometimes I just want something fatty and delicious! After all carbnite only comes once a week.  Just make sure you are eating the ultra fatty things right before bed.  This way your body won't store them as fat. By the time your body starts digesting them you'll use the fat as fuel.

Thank you +DH Kiefer for this diet!!  It's been a life saver for me!!

Carbnite week 8

I know I'm a day late in writing this post,
but I've been super busy lately with house projects!
I'll be blogging about them as soon as I'm done with them.

So good news I'm down 1 1/2 lbs as of today.
That makes 12 1/2 lbs in 8 weeks!
Hopefully I'll be down another 1/2 a lb by tomorrow.
I'd be ecstatic to be down 2 lbs in one week!
Fingers crossed.
I have to say this week the diet has been really easy for me.
It's becoming a lot more of a way of life,
instead of a weight-loss diet.
Which is good!
And carbnites are always fun.
My carbnite is tomorrow and I'm so excited for it!
There is some yummy food on the menu
like
homemade spaghetti and meatballs,
chocolate rice crispy treats,
and apple turnovers.
Oh it's gonna be good!
Cheers to a good week.

Author Amy Harmon

I just finished reading this wonderful book.

This book pulled me in immediately.
A trouble girl,
a hot British history teacher with the of name Darcy Wilson.
(he's like the less conceded, even nice version of Mr. Darcy,
whom we all love...right?!)
Wilson takes this girl "Blue" under his wing,
and tries to steer her to different choices.
This is a heart breaking,
but also a heart warming story.
I cried at least 3 times while reading this story.
It felt so real,
and I felt for this girl,
I was rooting for her the whole time.
I wanted her to succeed!
I highly recommend this book.

Amy
really knows how to speak to me.
I've read another book of her's called
Barefoot Running
 I also loved this book.
It inspired me to start listening to classical music again.
Something I did as a child and teenager.
It also inspired me to read
Which I am so glad I did,
it's such a wonderful story.
Much better than any of the movies.

Anyway back to Amy Harmon's books...both of these books have inspired me to be a better person.
Although there is some sadness in both of these stories,
the sadness was well worth it in the end to me.
Go get your read on!

The Carb Nite Solution week 7

Week 7 and I'm down 11 lbs.
I love this diet,
but at times it is so hard!
Like last night when we went to Costco.
After we shopped,
we stopped and got our kids pizza.
Because we are such nice parents haha.
That means my hubby and I,
who adore pizza.... just got to sit and watch our kids eat.
It looked so good,
and smelled even better!
Oh how we wanted to give in and eat that pizza!
But we didn't.
We were a little on edge,
but we didn't eat it haha

The things I have to tell myself when I'm having a hard day:
It's worth it.
You're loosing fat!
3 or 4 months from now you'll be done loosing weight,
and you'll be so thankful you stuck to it!
You're rarely ever hungry.
You get to eat lots of delicious meat and fats.
It's only a few more days until your carbnite,
and you can have any carb you want!
You can do this!

I really am grateful for this diet.
Even though it can be hard.
I really can't complain,
it really is worth the effort I'm putting in.
I am also grateful my hubby is doing this with me.
It's so nice to have a support system!
We complain,
and celebrate together haha.

Carb Nite Soluttion: Weigh in Wednesday #5

The update today is a bit disappointing for me.
I haven't lost any pounds since last Wednesday,
but I still have 2 more days until my carbnite,
which means I still have a chance to loose.
I did however loose inches.
In fact I lost 3 inches!
How I lost inches but not lbs??
I have no idea how that works.
I'll take what I can get,
I guess.
Not seeing the scale go down,
is a bit frustrating!
I haven't cheated,
and I'm doing my best to do everything right.
So when I don't see the scale budge,
it's annoying to say the least.
This diet is a lot of work.
I want to see at least a 1/2 a pound down!
Finger crossed I'll see the numbers go down by Friday.

I also started working out this week.
You're not supposed to do any cardio,
other than walking briskly
 while doing this diet.
(You're not eating enough carbs to do cardio.)
So you can only do resistance training.
I don't have any heavy weights,
bands,
or stuff like that.
I don't want to get a gym pass!
I can't afford another bill at the moment.
And with a baby that has been very sick,
I can't afford to leave him in the gym daycare
(with all those germs).
I don't have time to go to the gym when my hubby is home.
(wow that was a lot of excuses haha)
So my option for right now is to do the Tracy Anderson Method (TAM)
I have her Metamorphosis workout.
I'm not doing the cardio portion,
just the mat work.
It's a 60 day program.
I know my sisters would scoff at my choice haha
(they are big into weight lifting)
But it's my option right now!
It's better than nothing,
at least I'm doing something!!
And it's actually pretty hard.
My legs are like jelly by the end of the workout!
I'm actually excited to see if I get the results I want.
I'll keep you updated on this too,
 while I'm at it.
Lucky you haha

So that is my update this week.
No pounds lost,
but no pounds gained,
  lost 3 inches,
And I started TAM
Until next week!

The Carb Nite Solution: Weigh in Wednesday #3

Week number 5 and I'm down 10 lbs!
I'm excited over these numbers.
I could have been doing the same old thing.
Eating what I thought I had to eat to be able to provide milk for my baby.
And not be loosing any weight.
But I did make a change.
 I'm loosing weight,
and I'm happy to report I still have plenty of milk for my baby!!
I feel so much better,
happier,
healthier.
I feel like I'm finally getting my life under control!
So many things have been out of my control since getting pregnant over a year ago.
It feels so good to be getting things back in control in all aspects of my life.
I can't complain things are it's pretty good right now,
fingers crossed they stay that way. haha
If you are wondering what I've eating here is a sample of an ultra low carb day:

7:30 am Breakfast: 3 large eggs yolk and all

10:00 am Snack: 3 or 4 pieces of bacon

12:00 pm Lunch: 1 or 2 hamburger patties (may or may not have a slice of cheddar cheese) and 1/2 to 1 cup of steamed broccoli

3:00 pm Snack: protein shake with almond milk

6:00 pm Dinner: Ultra low carb Shepard's Pie, using cauliflower mash instead of mashed potatoes

9:00 pm Dessert: 2 Ultra low carb cheesecake bits and sugar free jello

I might have a serving of almonds some where in the day if I'm hungry.
Or maybe some pepperoni chips.
In this diet if you're hungry then eat something.
You don't ever have to feel starving.
And the plus side in this diet is,
all the weight you are loosing is just fat.
  No muscle,
just fat.
It's all about manipulating your body and hormone levels to get your body to the best fat burning state.

Weigh in Wednesday #2

Okay this the first time I have written a post from my phone.... My husband is occupying the computer tonight so I have no choice!  I'll make this post will be short and sweet.  First off Carbnite is awesome.  I am down another 1.5 lbs, so that's a total of 7.5 lbs in 4 weeks!  I feel so blessed to have found a diet that I can do, that works.  I feel good, and I'm eating.  I rarely feel hungry and if I do then I can eat.  This is no starvation diet which is a huge plus.  My husband is doing this diet with me and he's lost 11 lbs!  I love that we are doing this together.  It's been a great journey so far.  Hopefully next I'll have more weight loss to report!!

Weigh in Wednesday (Carbnite)

I've decided I'm going to start doing
"Weigh in Wednesdays".
I really feel like sharing my weight loss journey!
I have finally found a diet I can do where I can loose weight,
and still have enough milk for my breastfeeding baby.
I normally can not lose weight while I'm breastfeeding.
Usually if I try to loose weight my milk starts to dry up immediately!
So I just have to have an extra 30 or 40 lbs on me,
until my baby weans,
which is around a year.
Then I can finally start to get the weight off.
I'm sorry though,
I really do not like being chunky for a whole year without being able to do anything about it!
But it is more important to me to breastfeed than it is to loose weight.
So I normally suffer through the long year,
because I want to do right by my baby!
This time I don't have to wait!
Thanks to The Carb Nite® Solution by +DH Kiefer
Carb nite has been quite an experience so far.
It's been 20 days since I started and I have lost 6 lbs!!
And I Still have plenty of milk for my baby!
I can't tell you how awesome this is for me!
Like really.
If you are wondering what this diet is I'll briefly tell you....
You start out with a 10 day period where you eat high protein, high fat,
and ultra low carb ....like only 30 carbs or less.
On the 10th day you get a carbnite!
Starting between 4pm -6pm you not just get to,
you have to eat carbs.
Then you eat carbs basically until you go to bed.
It's total a carb fest!
Which is awesome.
So all those carbs you were craving and missing out on,
you now guilt free.... completely indulge for the night.
Then you go back to eating ultra low carbs, high protein, and high fat.
But this time and from now on you get a carbnite every 5-7 days.
So that's what I'm doing,
and it's working!
If you want to know more click on this link Carbnite or this one http://www.dangerouslyhardcore.com/

Honestly to be able to loose weight and still have plenty of milk to breastfeed my baby is completely AMAZING!!!

See you next Wednesday and I hope I have even more weight loss to report!

Life

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since July!
That is pretty lame of me...haha
I don't really want to write a huge long catch up post,
so I'm not going to!
Sorry,
if that is what you want!
I just don't have the energy to think about it.
My brain feels dead....probably from not getting enough sleep.
That new little baby of mine,
likes to wake me up to eat TOOOO much!
Speaking of I guess I haven't introduced him....here is William Thomas Mitchell
He's my sweet little man.
We call him old man baby elf,
because that is what he looks like! haha
He is....my love.
I really love him to death,
I'm quite obsessed with him to be honest.
I look at him and just see a bundle of love and cuteness!
But he makes me brain dead....I mean for reals!
My husband got upset at me the other week,
because I just couldn't seem to get things together.
He's used to me being so on top of things,
I'm just not on my A game right now.
I'm trying harder though,
and accomplishing more than I was....so he's not upset with me anymore...haha
Oh the joys of life!
It's such a blessing to have a baby,
but I do miss sleeping....like a lot!
And being able to get everything done that I want to get done.
Baby William will grow up soon enough and I will be sleeping good again....I know this.
Meanwhile I'm really trying to enjoy life,
 even the hardness of it.
